BRISTOL, Tenn. - King College knows the schedule for the upcoming NCCAA Volleyball National Tournament as the organization announced schedule for pool play and the final four matches on Monday.
King, at 27-10 this season, has the No. 5 seed for the event. The Lady Tornado will be in Pool "A" with four other teams. At the top of the pool is No. 1 Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) University along with No. 4 Northwestern (Minn.) College, No. 8 Bryan (Tenn.) College and No. 9 Southeastern (Fla.) University.
The championship will be played at the Kissimmee Civic Center in Kissimmee, Fla.
First for the Lady Tornado will be a 2 p.m. contest Thursday against Northwestern. Northwestern has a 23-11 record which included a perfect 14-0 record in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play. Later in the evening, at 6:30 p.m., King takes on a Mount Vernon squad with a 33-8 record.
Friday starts for King at 2 p.m. against Bryan and pool play concludes at 6 p.m. versus Southeastern. Southeastern has a 9-23 record and Bryan comes to Kissimmee at 28-15 after finishing tied for first in the Appalachian Athletic Conference at 15-1.
The other pool features No. 2 Campbellsville (Ky.) University, No. 3 Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) University, No. 6 Malone (Ohio) University, No. 7 Spring Arbor (Mich.) University and No. 10 Pensacola Christian (Fla.) College.
Saturday will have two semifinal contests, the first at 10 a.m. followed by the second at noon. The national championship match is scheduled for 3 p.m. with the awards ceremony at 5 p.m.
